Share to Buy Welcome Almost 500 to First-Ever Bristol Home Show
Share to Buy welcomed 450 guests to their first-ever event outside of the capital – the Bristol Home Show – on Saturday 29th June. The brand-new sister event of the hugely successful London Home Show, the UK’s largest dedicated exhibition for first time buyers, the Bristol Home Show provided a one-stop shop for anyone looking to step onto the property ladder in the South West.
Taking place at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel, attendees enjoyed access to a wealth of in-depth information about Shared Ownership, Older Persons Shared Ownership and private sale homes across Bristol and surrounding areas. Nearly 200 attendees joined the series of Q&As and live sessions which ran throughout the day, covering everything from eligibility criteria to credit scores. Independent mortgage advisors and conveyancing solicitors were also on hand to offer financial and legal advice to the budding home buyers.
Exhibitors on the day included show sponsors Abri Homes, Bromford Homes, Guinness Homes and Sovereign Network Group, who are all currently selling new homes in and around Bristol.
Newly launched in Southville, Abri Homes is offering a collection of one, two and three bedroom Shared Ownership homes at The Old Brewery. The Old Brewery will encompass two landscaped courtyards and space for offices and shops. With 98 homes available through the part-buy part-rent scheme, the development will be a vibrant mix of old and new Bristol. Pricing for a one bedroom apartment starts from £91,875 based on a 35% share.
Another major development, ideally located on Bristol’s Harbourside, is McArthur’s Yard by Guinness Homes. The development will feature 120 Shared Ownership and private sale homes, ranging from one, two and three bedroom apartments, as well as two-storey two and three bedroom duplexes. Pricing at McArthur’s Yard starts from £89,250 based on a 30% share of a one bedroom apartment.
Ideal for both couples and growing families, Bromford Homes is offering a collection two and three bedroom Shared Ownership homes at Partridge Walk, Stafford. This development is conveniently located close to a range of local amenities, including highly rated primary and secondary schools. Appealing to commuters, homes at Partridge Walk benefit from easy access to Stafford town centre, via both public transport and road, whilst frequent trains run direct to London from Stafford station. Pricing at the development starts from £53,750 based on a 25% share of a two bedroom house.
Jade Turnstill, Head of Brand & Content for Share to Buy comments: “We are thrilled with the strong turnout for the first-ever Bristol Home Show. With 450 guests through the door, it’s clear that there’s a real demand for affordable homeownership schemes in the South West, and a lack of high-quality, unbiased information available to help budding buyers understand their housing options.”
“We’re proud to be empowering those looking for a home in Bristol and the surrounding areas, helping them to navigate their way through a very challenging home-buying market. Our first exhibition outside of the capital marks a very exciting time for Share to Buy, and we plan to bring the Home Show to more locations across the country over the next year.”
